FAQ
Q – My child is 4 however, she loves singing but can’t seem to stay focused for more than a few minutes. I’d like to know if she’d be a good fit for a class like yours?
A – Having worked with many young children, we have seen amazing things occur in a group class setting. Where children are unfocused, they become focused. When children are shy, they become comfortable, even more out-going. When children are learning something new like your child, she will experience all kinds of 4 year old behaviors and that’s okay. We just keep pulling their attention back to singing in a gentle way and what he or she is there to learn. Weekly lessons and repetition helps ground children and before you know it, it becomes easy. We always say to new parents to give it some time. To try not to have high expectations and allow your child to learn and grow in their new environment.
Q – Can I drop my kids off and pick them up after class is over?
A – Children that are 10 or younger should always be accompanied by an adult or care-giver. If something arises during a class, there has to be a responsible adult to aid the child. You would have to use your own discretion on kids 10 and up. Renting a space in a church, we want to make sure children are not left alone in the hall after class. We do start and end the classes on time so, if you have to drop them off, please get back early to insure a timely pick-up.
Q – If my child takes two classes and for some reason does not want to return, can I get my money back?
A – Absolutely. We would subtract the classes taken and issue a refund. Our policy is you need to cancel no later that 2 classes into the session and then we will issue a refund. If for some reason you need to cancel after 3 lessons, we cannot issue a refund.
Q – Are there make-up classes if my child misses one?
A – Being a mom herself, Jennifer’s schedule is very busy. She will do her best to post at least one make-up per session and it will be a mixed age class.
Q – If we are running late, can we still come to class?
A – Yes. We start the classes with fun vocal warm-up’s that are so important for the voice, so, please try to plan your schedule accordingly. We know it’s challenging with all that we have to juggle in life! We know, we are parents!
Q – Should my child come with a sore throat?
A – If she is in any way contagious, we would say no. If she had been screaming at cheer leading practice and her voice hurts because of that, we would say, yes. The warm-ups are healing and would aid in making her feel better. A note to all families and adults; Please wash your hands before class so everyone can stay super healthy!! Thanks. We will be sending out vocal tips in our newsletter on how to keep a very healthy voice through the winter!
Q – Should I bring water to class?
A – Yes! It is very important to keep the vocal cords hydrated!
